Participation in the 2nd International Workshop on Procedures for the Development of Evidence-based Recommendations for Immunization
SIVAC participated in the 2nd International Workshop on Procedures for the Development of Evidence-based Recommendations for Immunization, organized by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), in Berlin, Germany, on September 15th and 16th. Some representatives of NITAGs supported by SIVAC were also invited by RKI to attend the meeting thanks for some financial support from SIVAC. On this occasion, SIVAC presented the findings of its survey on the criteria used in the establishment of recommendations by a sample of NITAGs.
To participate and facilitate a training workshop on strengthening National Committee of Immunization Practices (NCIP) in Paro, Bhutan
SIVAC helped explore the issues affecting Bhutan's Natinal Committee of Immunization Practice during a training workshop in Paro, Bhutan, on September 12-14. The workshop on strengthening Bhutan's NCIP was co-organized by the South-East Regional Office of WHO in collaboration with US CDC and SIVAC Initiative. With the support of case studies about a fictitious NITAG, current issues of Bhutanese NCIP were reviewed and discussed.
Partnership meeting in Hanoi
SIVAC held a partnership meeting with the General Department of Preventive Medicine and the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) on September 20 to discuss the development of the NITAG in Vietnam. The meeting provided inputs to take into account for the concept paper currently being written by a local team.
Technical visit to Kyrgyzstan for the finalization of the concept paper
Following on from the previous technical visit of SIVAC in June, the concept paper, the NITAG charter and the membership list have been approved by the Deputy Minister. SIVAC met with the national authorities to prepare the official establishment of the committee.
