Participation to the Global Vaccines 202X: Access, Equity, Ethics symposium
SIVAC participated to the Global Vaccines 202X: Access, Equity, Ethics three-day symposium at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia on May 3rd 2011. This conference gathered approximately 100 leaders from global public health, government, academia, foundations and the NGO community to assess key issues and lay the foundation for an effective policy framework focused on access, equity and ethics for the decade-plus ahead. In plenary session, SIVAC had the opportunity to present the role of Civil Society in Decision Making for Immunization Policies through the example of National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs).

SIVAC at the Assembly of the ECOWAS Health Ministers
Following the information meeting on the support for the creation of NITAGs in Western Africa, SIVAC participated to the Assembly of the ECOWAS (Economic Community Of West African States) Health Ministers in Lomé, Togo. WAHO presented an official communication to the Countries regarding the next steps for the generalization of NITAGs in the region with the support of its partners (SIVAC and WHO).
SIVAC's participation to the DCVRN annual meeting
SIVAC attended the 12th meeting of the Developing Countries' Vaccine Regulators Network (DCVRN), held in Chavannes-de-Bogis, Switzerland, 12th May. SIVAC presented an update on the activities conducted with WHO on the improvement of the coordination between NITAGs and NRAs (National Regulatory Authorities). Upcoming activities on this topic were discussed with partners and the countries.
SIVAC's visit to the Indonesian NITAG
Following the Bogor workshop, the SIVAC team visited the Indonesian Technical Advisory Group for Immunization (ITAGI), and worked on finalizing the concept paper and the work plan for the activities and the strengthening of the committee and its secretariat.
Training of members from SIVAC-supported NITAGs
Five persons from the NITAGs of Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal and Vietnam participated in the IVI vaccinology course in Seoul, and representative from NITAG executive secretariat of Indonesia and Lebanon attended the two week Advanced Course of Vaccinology (ADVAC) held in Annecy, France.
