Recruitment of Dr. Pham Thi Van Ngoc (MD, MPH) as Program Officer for Viet Nam
Dr Pham Thi Van Ngoc, (MD, MPH), joined the SIVAC team on August 1. Ngoc graduated from Hanoi Medical University and holds a master’s degree in Public Health Methodology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. As Program Officer, she will be the focal point for all SIVAC activities in Vietnam.
The NITAG of New Zealand welcomed Mongolian delegates
Delegates from Mongolia attended a session of the New Zealand Immunization Technical Forum, in Wellington. A specific session was organized with senior staff at the MOH to discuss their experiences.
SIVAC attended the 20th Meeting of the Technical Advisory Group on Immunization & Vaccine Preventable Diseases in the Western Pacific Region
SIVAC met with representatives of supported countries and partners and provided updates on the initiative at two meetings held in Manila, Philippines, in August. The 20th Meeting of the Technical Advisory Group on Immunization & Vaccine Preventable Diseases in the Western Pacific Region was held on August 9-11, followed by the Inter-Agency Coordinating Committee on August 12.
Visit to Senegal for assessing the opportunity and feasibility to support the establishment of a NITAG
SIVAC visited Senegal in August to assess the feasibility and relevance of establishing a NITAG project in the country. Senegal expressed an interest in establishing a NITAG – with support from the West African Health Organization, SIVAC and partners – following the April workshop in Ouagadougou.
